Build Environment ("we", "us") runs the Build Environment Customer Portal — a private, invite-only app that lets our clients follow the progress of their construction project: timelines, site updates, approvals, documents and payments. This policy explains what information the portal collects, why, and how it's handled.
Who can use this portal
There is no public sign-up. Accounts are created by our team for clients and staff working on an active project, and access is granted per-project.
What we collect
- Account information — your name, email address and role (customer or staff), used to sign you in and show you the right project.
- Project content — site update photos and notes, approval decisions, documents, milestones and payment records tied to your project.
- Photos you choose to share — if you attach a photo to an approval or update from your camera or photo library, that image is uploaded to your project record. We only access your camera or photos when you tap to attach one.
- Basic device/usage information — standard technical data (like device type and app version) that helps us diagnose problems.
How we use it
Solely to run the portal for you: showing your project's status, letting you review and approve material/design decisions, keeping your documents and payment history in one place, and notifying you of updates on your project. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Project and account data is synced with our internal project-management system (Zoho) so that our site and office teams can keep your project moving. Zoho acts as a data processor on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. We don't share your information with any other third party except where required by law.
How long we keep it
We retain project data for the duration of your project and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and warranty purposes. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time — see Contact below.
Security
Access to the portal requires sign-in, data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and project access is restricted to the people assigned to that project.
Children
This portal is a business tool for our clients and staff and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the portal after a change means you accept the update.
